During the second grant period there were 3 STSM calls. The STSM program received 27 applications in total and the number of granted applications was 23, which represents an increase of about 20% and 28%, respectively, with respect to the first grant period. Among grantees: 39% were women, 30% came from ITC countries, and 96% were young researchers (less than 40 years old). The average STSM duration was 28 days and the mean grantee’s age was 29 years.
The total budget devoted to the STSM program was 46.853,00 €, this means a 38% increase in comparison to executed STSM budget in the first grant period. During the second grant period, research centres and universities have participated as home and host institutions from 16 and 11 different countries, respectively [Home institution countries: Italy (4), The Netherlands (3), Norway (2), Portugal (2), Czech Republic (1), Denmark (1), France (1), Germany (1), Ireland (1), Luxembourg (1), Moldova (1), Poland (1), Romania (1), Serbia (1), Spain (1) and UK (1)] [Host institution countries: Germany (8), Spain (3), Poland (2), Romania (2), Switzerland (2), Denmark (1), Finland (1), France (1), Italy (1), Slovenia (1), The Netherlands (1)]. Consequently, during the second grant period 19 different countries have actively participated in OPERA’s STSM program, a 19% increased as compared to the first grant period.
