Summary of OPERA-STSM program for fourth grant period

During the fourth grant period there were 3 STSM calls subdivided in specific young and senior calls. The STSM program received 33 applications in total, and the number of granted applications was 27. These numbers are slightly higher than those of the previous grant periods. Among grantees: 52% were women, 37% came from Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITCs), and 70% were young researchers (less than 40 years old). The average STSM duration was 21 days, and the mean grantee’s age was 36 years.

The total budget devoted to the STSM program was 52.000,00 €, this means an 11% increase in comparison to the executed budget in the third grant period. During this grant period, research centres and universities from 13 (14) different countries have participated as home (host) institutions [Home institution countries: Spain (6), Poland (5), Italy (4), Portugal (2), Turkey (2), Algeria (1), Belgium (1), Czech Republic (1), France (1), Germany (1), Israel (1), Switzerland (1) and Tunisia (1)] [Host institution countries: Poland (4), France (3), Germany (3), Romania (3), Denmark (2), Portugal (2), Spain (2), Switzerland (2), Belgium (1), Bulgaria (1), Czech Republic (1), Italy (1), The Netherlands (1), and United Kingdom (1)]. Hence, 18 different countries have actively participated in OPERA’s STSM program during the during the fourth grant period.
