Dear colleagues,
I would like to share an open postdoctoral research position at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) in collaboration with TU Dresden, funded by the German Aerospace Center (DLR).
The project focuses on the development of electro-optical modulators for laser communication systems, aiming to enable efficient communication between low-orbit satellites and ground stations using modulating retroreflector technology. The work includes semiconductor device design, fabrication of III–V structures, and optical/electrical characterization of prototype devices.
The position is for 2 years, expected to start April–May 2026, and is based in Dresden, Germany.
We are looking for candidates with a PhD in semiconductor physics, materials science, electrical engineering, or a related field, with experience in optoelectronic devices, semiconductor processing, and characterization techniques.
Please feel free to circulate this opportunity to suitable candidates.
